“Remind Mum to take her tablets at seven”, “remind Stepan to take his PE kit” — in a Brain Buffer family a reminder like that is one sentence, and it reaches that person. A family shares reminders, not locations: your family cannot see where you are.
Pick whichever suits the person:
A code or a link works in the app and on the website, so joining does not take Telegram. And no invitation works without the invited person saying yes.
The same way as for yourself, with a name: “remind Mum to take her tablets at 7 pm”, “remind Stepan at 7:30 tomorrow to take his PE kit”. The name is the one the person has in your family; set another with “call Iryna Ira”.
They get a message saying who set what, and the reminder appears in their list marked with who it is from. It arrives wherever they get their own reminders.
A timetable can be passed on the same way: “send Nadia the timetable” — or choose who it is for when importing a photo.
And when you only need to tell them something: “tell everyone dinner is at seven”. For something urgent there is an alert that sounds even on a silenced phone: “wake Ira up”. Up to five an hour, and anyone can make alerts from a particular person quiet.
Family members see who is in the family and the reminders they set for each other. They do not see where you are. A place reminder is matched by the phone of the person it is for, against their own saved places: “remind Mum when she gets home” fires by her own place called “home”. More on how the phone decides you have arrived.
You can leave at any time, without asking anyone. Everyone in a family is equal, the person who created it included. Someone can be removed only if they agree, or if everyone else says yes. If a request goes 24 hours without an answer and nobody has said no, the person who created the family may finish it — a fallback for a lost phone, not a privilege. In a family of two, “everyone else” is one person, so there removal happens at once. Someone who was removed can be invited again like anyone else.
